Meg Harrop - Brand Stylist and Designer

This Freelance Insights interview features Meg Harrop, a brand stylist and designer who helps business owners develop their brand identity.

I started following Meg on Instagram a few months ago because she was working with a fellow translator on her new branding. I soon found myself liking every one of her posts, from insights into her design process to her portfolio of client work and her helpful tips on running a business that is authentic and honest. Meg is a wonderful example of how to do Instagram right.

Meg usually works 1:1 with clients on their branding, but she’s scaling that back over the next few months to start selling digital products online that will be of use to both her current client base and fellow designers. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with!

If you haven’t got much of a budget but you feel like your branding could be more professional or consistent, or that you want to make your freelance business convey more of YOU as a person, Meg’s Blossoming Brand Blueprint is for you. It’s a 3-step guide that walks you through the whole process of creating a brand for your business, and she’s offering it for free!

Sophie Livingston - Website Copywriter

This Freelance Insights interview features Sophie Livingston, a website copywriter who helps other freelancers attract clients who value what they do.

Sophie was the inspiration for this series, as she posted on Instagram about other freelancers throughout December using the hashtag #freelanceadvent! I’d been thinking for a while that I wanted to do something to promote community over competition, so Sophie’s recent posts were just the push I needed.

Sophie sends out a monthly newsletter that totally feels like you’re getting a letter from an old friend (couldn’t we all do with a bit of that, given the loneliness that can come with freelancing?). On top of that, she provides real value on topics like copywriting, branding, content marketing, etc.
